The mobile stress management apps (MoStMan-Apps) module based on psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) is a guide for children, families and nurses in carrying out interventions to manage the adaptation response and quality of life of children with chronic diseases.
This application module is designed as a medium that strengthens childrens understanding of the material in the application.
This module can be used by children both at home and while undergoing treatment in hospital.
The material contained in this module is the result of recommendations for phase I and phase 2 research that have been carried out by the author.
The first stage of research is research to look for strategic issues by distributing questionnaires to children suffering from chronic diseases, then the second stage of research is the stage of carrying out focus group discussions involving child patients, parents, heads of childrens inpatient rooms, childrens inpatient nurses and pediatric poly nurse and pediatrician at the NTB Provincial Hospital.Based on the results of research at these two stages, it shows that children with chronic illnesses complain of symptoms of discomfort, have negative self-esteem, children are not able to regulate their emotions well, most children have moderate and severe levels of pain, and children do not get enough support from family and friends.

This can be caused by a lack of understanding about the disease, how to manage symptoms of discomfort, and how to regulate emotions well as well as the importance of support from various parties.Seeing this situation, this problem can cause children to be vulnerable to experiencing stress conditions, so it is necessary to develop an intervention model in the form of stress management which aims to increase childrens knowledge and understanding of disease, the physical and psychological impacts of disease, managing symptoms of discomfort and pain levels, building self-esteem and how to regulate emotions well and the importance of family support.
Increasing childrens understanding and knowledge can be provided through education and improving childrens skills in disease management.
The hope is that children will be able to develop a positive adaptive response and an optimal quality of life.
